Kopenhag'ın yeni çehresi "Tuborg Havn" // The new feature of Copenhagen "Tuborg Havn"

Sizi etkilemek istemem.

It is a new trend in the European cities... Environment-friendly, eco-city. Especially a big trend for the northern European city planning. Nevertheless, because of the financial crisis, some of the newly built condos are empty and it is hard for the find new owners. But the talk about eco-city still keeps its strength, and the neighborhoods that are sustainable, new and eco are still the trend of urban.
Tuborg Havn(Tuborg Harbour) is a part of Hellerup city, which is the most expensive and elite part of Copenhagen. The area is named Tuborg Havn because of the Tuborg factory that was in the area in the past.
The area is full of new and modern apartments. Some says "modern and sustainable", and some says "kitsch and dead alive"... I can say that the building style of the apartments, materials that are used, the location and so on proves that it is sustainable.
There is no doubt that the area is designed for the upper-class people. You can easily understand that from the boats that are staying near by the apartments. Nice life ha? So much so that Hellerup is the upper-east side of Copenhagen. The condos prices begin from 1.5 million Euros.
When I was walking around in the area the thing that I liked was the sculptures, matches gently to the water, which were placed on the sidewalks. And the environmental design of the area is just perfect.
I don’t want to write more, just want to leave you with the photos. Sorry for the date that shows up on the pictures :)

Outfitters rocks!

Last week I was in Stockholm, visiting my old friends, living in the city. Well, Stockholm means shopping, partying, drinking rosé and enjoying every part of the city.
Hipster Götgatan, classic Gamla Stan, exclusive Stureplan, elegant Strandvagen and cosmopolite Plattan.

Especially the shopping district Biblioteks Gatan (Library Avenue), is the place that I love to hang out with some friends and try to follow the days fashion. Basically everyone walking on that street is stylish as it actually is in the whole country. But here it is more exclusive and trendy. From COS to Flippa K, Acne to Hilfiger, from Ralph Lauren to Massimo...but maybe the most trendy one is Urban Outfitters. Not only trendy and crazy clothes they do offer design tools too. Books, cups, kitchen wares and more... Moreover the building of Urban Outfitters gives a feeling of being in a palace! It is a huge saloon with mezzanine! You see the picture of it below.

I always cipher out some things from Outfitters!
Last week my favorite one was a book! It can be really nice gift to anyone specially the kids! But I believe that it would easily suit to your center stand in your living room. What makes the book so special ?? Watch the video that I took for you guys ;)

Athwart design-Athwart lifestyle

Come, Come again !
Whatever you are...
Whether you are infidel,
idolater or fireworshipper.
Whether you have broken your vows
of repentance a hundred times
This is not the gate of despair,
This is the gate of hope.
Come, come again...

Mevlana

Mevlana, a Turkish theosophic philiosopher. He accepts everyone, does not discriminate, and is known by his honesty. I am not sure what his thoughts would be about "Christiania" but, our guide in "Christiania" says just the same things as Mevlana did. He says that in Christiania they accept everyone, doesn’t matter who he is, where he comes from or what he does.

Christiania is a part of Copenhagen situated in the middle of the city. Some says “the freed place" some says "a disgrace city" and some thinks it’s the center of narcotic.

The area was occupied by the hippies in 70's, right after the military sources left the area. The reason to move to the area was the hippies’ opposition to the government of Denmark and its law, which they claimed that it wasn’t fair. Since the early 70's the area is administrated by the hippies. Today the area is the definition of the word "athwart". The soft drugs are allowed, people do not pay any taxes to the Danish government, and the sprit of hippiness still exists in the area. Moreover, Christiania hosts art centers and concert halls, which makes the area more attractive and keeps it lively. There are also some shops and art ateliers where you can actually find really interesting and unique things.  Especially the Christiania Bikes are known by every Dane. Denmark is a bicycle land. Even the parliament members bike to the parliament. Hippies of Christiania produce really unique and good looking bikes to Danes.

Recycling is important!

While going around Christiania, you can easily see many houses that are built by using only recycled materials. Christianians give a big importance to recycling. They recycle almost everything. When the houses are built by recycled materials, and when the architects are also from Christiania, the result is a "athwart" architecture. Every house in the area has its own hippish style.

Want to stay in Christiania??

You have to come to Denmark first. Then it is only two stops from the central station. Christianians welcome everyone in their area. They call it "the free country of Christiania". They also like to have new people living in the area. Right know the population of Christiania is 1000. If you want to live in the area or stay in Christiania, while you are in Copenhagen, you have to apply for a room to stay from their webside http://www.christiania.org/ .

The area of Christiania

Banana House

Everything that is built in Christiania is from the recycled products. Christianians recycle their wastes and produce new environment-friendly products. The houses that are built in Christiania are all built by using the recycled products. As this is a free-land, the style of the houses has a free-style too. Recycled materials, combines with the vast imagination of Christianians at the end we experience a totally different architectural trend.

Purity at home, purity in the wardrobe

The color of Autumn, White and grey! Pure and elegant. I like these words. And I like to use their terms for my clothes and things at home. So basic and simple can sometimes make you the most elegant and handsome... I really believe in it. Therefore today I want to share my favorite two brands, Eva Solo and Cos. As I sad before, I think a man should give importance to his lifestyle, means home and his clothes.
Eva Solo is a kitchen tool design brand. http://www.evasolo.com/page/omevasolo/ is the web site of the brand. Eva Solo is just one part of the Danish Design. They create kitchenware. They are on the stage for 100 years. The look is perfect.
Cos is a newly known brand, same company with H&M. But it is much more exclusive. It has opened its stores in Stockholm and other places some years ago. The brand became so popular in very short time. Europeans love Cos! The design is perfect and the most important thing is, it is different than any other brand. It is unique. I visited Cos in more than 3 countries, and trust me, all of them are just perfect.
The aim is! To have a cloth from Cos in your Wardrobe and to have a kitchenware from Eva Solo in your kitchen!
Both of them will be like your children. I have a carafe from Eva Solo at home, which I really proud of and I have shirts from Cos. http://www.cosstores.com is the web-site to reach Cos. They are just so unique and look perfect. I wanted to share some photos with you.
Enjoy the purity!
